About the Cookbook

Our Celebrity Charity Cookbook celebrates Nancy's love of food and friends and our appreciation for the work Community Living does in Mississauaga and across Canada.

In 1975, Community Living Mississauga printed a cookbook that was often sold at church bazaars and other locations around Mississauga to raise funds for their various programs. This is our attempt to revive the theme, give back to Community Living and develop a cookbook that is fun, delicious and also entertaining to read. We got the name for our cookbook because we thought everyone who donated a recipe would be within six degrees of knowing Nancy and or Kevin Bacon.

How we will calculate net proceeds is as follows, we will take the $30, $40, or $50 selling price - less the GST  (it's PST free) - less printing ($11.04 per book) and any credit card fees. We are not charging for any of our time and any out of pocket expenses.  Locally we will schedule some pick up points to keep our delivery costs for everyone to a minimum.

The net proceeds initially will go to Community Living Missisauga with bold plans to head across the country, but we need to take the first step in our home city.

"The cookbook is beautiful! Not only is the quality and design fabulous but the recipes inside are sure to become new "favourites" for family and friends alike!"

About Us

Nancy

This cookbook is in memory of our sister Nancy. During her life Nancy was supported by our parents, our Aunt and Uncle, and the great individuals who are part of the team at Community Living Mississauga (CLM).  Nancy passed away at the young age of 49 in 2010, after becoming toxic for the third time.

Our family has volunteered at Community Living for over 50 years and 5 years ago, after a donation from our family, they developed the "Joan & Gordon Murless" fund to help families in need get the necessary legal and financial support to properly plan and execute their childs future.

We hope to be able to "top up this fund" and also have enough funds left over to allow Community Living Mississauga to develop new programs and enhance the programs they already have.

To read more about Community Living Mississauga and the individuals they support please visit their website at www.clmiss.ca. There is a Community Living in many towns and cities across Canada so we encourage you to check out your local organization.
